Strategic goals and objectives
The Strategic goals and objectives of NALTF are designed to guide the activities and direction of the fund in alignment with its mission and purpose.
Goal 1:
Enhance Access to Current and Past Resources of the National Assembly
- Properly archive and make accessible previous and current documentation from the National Assembly
- Increase the acquisition of diverse and relevant research materials to enrich the library's collection.
- Establish partnerships with publishers, institutions, and content providers to access high-quality digital resources.
- Expand access to online databases and e-books to ensure the National Assembly has access to a wide range of research materials to support informed decision making.
Goal 2:
Support Lifelong Learning Initiatives
- Develop and fund programs that promote literacy, skill development, and lifelong learning for the National Assembly community.
- Provide grants or scholarships for community members pursuing higher education or vocational training.
- Collaborate with local schools, colleges, and community centers to offer and support research of national interest.
Goal 3: Enhance Technological Capabilities
- Upgrade and maintain the library's technological infrastructure to support digital services and online resources.
- Develop and maintain a user-friendly library website and online catalog system for easy access to resources.
- Integrate emerging technologies like virtual reality, augmented reality, or interactive learning and Artificial Intelligence powered platforms to engage patrons.
Goal 4:
Strengthen Community Engagement
- Organize community events, book clubs, and author talks to encourage interactions among patrons.
- Establish a community space within the library to host meetings, workshops, and cultural activities.
- Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to co-host events that benefit the community.
Goal 5:
Ensure Sustainability of the Library Fund
- Diversify funding sources by actively seeking grants, donations, and endowments, in addition to the National Assembly’s funding for the Trust Fund .
- Develop a long-term investment strategy to ensure the fund's financial stability and growth.
- Establish a comprehensive fundraising campaign to raise awareness and generate support for the library trust fund.
Goal 6:
Promote Cultural Preservation and Heritage
- Curate and maintain a specialized collection of local history, literature, proceedings, laws passed, gazettes, and processes of the National Assembly.
- Offer educational awareness and sensitization programs and workshops that highlight the importance of cultural preservation and understanding.
Goal 7:
Expand Accessibility and Inclusivity
- Implement measures to make the library space and services more accessible for people with disabilities.
- Provide resources and programs that cater to diverse demographics and cultural backgrounds.
