President Tinubu Calls for National Unity and Renewed Patriotism at Eid-el-Fitr

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside national legislative leaders, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah following the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan. In a series of coordinated messages, the nation’s leadership urged citizens to transition the spiritual lessons of the fast into a collective effort for national rebuilding and stability.

President Tinubu, in a statement released by the State House, characterized the conclusion of Ramadan as a pivotal moment for Nigerians to align their wills toward a common goal. Emphasizing the agency of the citizenry in shaping the country’s future, the President remarked:

“We are the sculptor, and Nigeria is the clay; we build it the way we desire.”

The President further enjoined the faithful to maintain the high moral standards set during the holy month, stating: “We have a lot to draw from the noble lessons of Ramadan, especially at a time like this. We must continue to abide by the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion beyond this period.”

State executives and members of the National Assembly joined the President in advocating for peace and intensified prayers to overcome current regional and economic challenges.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also issued a celebratory message on behalf of the upper chamber, emphasizing the nationwide nature of the festivities: “I heartily rejoice with all the Muslims in Nigeria as they join their counterparts in other parts of the world to celebrate Eid El Fitri. Let us remember to keep the spirit of Ramadan alive in our hearts and minds.”

The collective messages from Nigeria’s leadership underscore a unified front in the face of national hurdles. Leaders across the board tasked the Muslim faithful and all Nigerians to use the festive period as a springboard for acts of charity and universal love, ensuring that the spirit of inclusivity defines the Nigerian society moving forward.
