The National Assembly Library Executive Secretary Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that advance informed legislative processes and contribute to the successful consideration of important legislative reforms.
Nwawuba gave this assurance while receiving the Secretariat of the Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill, led by its Secretary, Nnadubem Moghalu, during a courtesy visit to the National Assembly Library and Resource Center in Abuja.
The delegation, comprising researchers, data analysts, and other members of the Secretariat, visited the Library to express appreciation for the support provided to the Working Group since the commencement of its assignment. The Secretariat described the Library as a “generous host and a dependable partner,” noting that the Library supplied the space and resources required for the Secretariat to steadily undertake its mandate.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the Working Group Secretariat to brief the Executive Secretary on the progress of their work and discuss the next phase, including opportunities for continued collaboration and policy engagement.
Welcoming the delegation, Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba thanked the Working Group for recognising the role of the National Assembly Library in supporting evidence-based legislative work. He reaffirmed the Library’s readiness to provide support and facilitate engagements that advance constructive dialogue on critical legislative and public policy issues.
According to him, the National Assembly Library remains committed to serving as a resource and knowledge hub for legislators, government institutions, policy actors, and other stakeholders whose work contributes to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic and legislative institutions.
“As the Bill progresses, we will continue to offer our support and facilitate engagements that will contribute to its successful consideration, passage and broad acceptance,” Nwawuba stated.
Hon. Nwawuba also welcomed continued collaboration with the Presidential Working Group and emphasized that the State Police Bill is a worthy initiative that deserves support from all well-meaning Nigerians.
