Tuesday, March 10, 2026_- The House of Representatives today held a solemn session to honour the memory of two distinguished members of the parliamentary community, observing a minute of silence in tribute to the late Dr. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu, PhD, Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative) to the Speaker, and Distinguished Senator Barinada Mpigi of Rivers South East Senatorial District.
Members reflected with deep emotion on the life and service of Dr. Chamberlain Dunkwu, whose sudden passing has left the Office of the Speaker and the entire House in mourning. Known for his energy, warmth, and remarkable ability to connect with colleagues, he played a central role in interfacing with Members and sustaining the spirit of fellowship within the parliamentary community. His loyalty to the institution, his tireless support to the Speaker, and his dedication to the work of the House earned him the respect and friendship of Members across party and regional lines. 
The House also remembered the life and public service of Senator Barinada Mpigi, whose legislative career reflected a longstanding commitment to grassroots representation and development in the Niger Delta. His contributions to national discourse and infrastructure oversight were acknowledged with respect and gratitude. 
In a moment of shared reflection, the House observed a minute of silence in honour of the two departed public servants whose lives were devoted to service, leadership, and the strengthening of democratic institutions.
