The National Assembly Library hosted the 2025 Annual Conference of the Association of Hansard/Verbatim Reporters of Nigeria (AHVRN), a gathering that brought together stakeholders and thought leaders to deliberate on the theme: “Hansard: An Instrument for Policy Formulation for National Development.”

In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, Executive Secretary of the National Assembly Library, by Deputy Director Moses Ameh, he praised Hansard reporters for their ‘silent but vital role’ in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
I recognize the invaluable partnership between Hansard reporting and the Library. Both institutions are custodians of knowledge, working together to ensure that legislative information is accessible, preserved, and applied for national development.
Goodwill remarks were also delivered by the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Yahaya H. Danzaria, who spoke on behalf of the Clerk of the National Assembly; Gobina Drisu, the National President of the AHVRN, as well as Omolara Akinyeye, Deputy Executive Director of Policy and Legal Advocacy Center (PLAC).
The conference provided a unique platform for engagement, knowledge sharing, and strengthening collaboration between Hansard reporters and the broader legislative community.
