The leadership of the National Assembly collectively endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office at the National Summit of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sen. Godswill Akpabio (Senate President), Sen. Barau Jibrin (Deputy Senate President), Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas (Speaker, House of Representatives) and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu (Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives) joined the summit which reviewed the multi-sector achievements of President Bola Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda over the last two years. The summit held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa on Thursday, May 22, 2025.



At the Summit, a motion was moved by the Senate President and seconded by the Speaker on behalf of the 109 Senators and 360 Members of the House, endorsing President Tinubu as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
In a press release from the Speaker, he noted that, “President Tinubu has taken bold, sometimes difficult decisions to bring Nigeria back on track – and we are now seeing the results: improved fiscal discipline, expanding infrastructure, rising job creation, and renewed security efforts”.
