Senate Confirms Presidential Nominees for NAHCON and INEC

The Senate formally clears three of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s nominees for critical national roles in diplomacy, elections, and religious affairs.

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the senate during its plenary session confirmed and approved the appointments three nominations they recieved from His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The nominees approved and their new appointments include:

Saidu Usman Dakingari as Non-Career Ambassador

Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf as Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Comission of Nigeria (NAHCON)

Rear Admiral Jamila Abubakar Sadiq (Rtd) Representing North East as National Electoral Comissioner (NEC) for Independent National Electoral Comission (INEC).
