Senator Tony Nwoye, representing the Anambra North Senatorial District, has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The announcement was made during Wednesday’s Senate plenary session after Senate President Godswill Akpabio read Senator Nwoye’s formal resignation letter to the assembly.
In his communication to the Senate, Nwoye detailed that his exit was necessitated by persistent internal friction and the legal instability currently plaquing the ADC. He highlighted ongoing internal crises and factionalism , legal disputes and coalition instability.
In his formal notification, Senator Nwoye stated:
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and my intention to defect to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).”
