Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening trade and economic ties with Morocco, highlighting the long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship between the two African nations.
The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by members of the Nigeria-Morocco Commerce and Development Forum, who met with the Deputy Senate President at his residence in Abuja.
Led by the forum’s Vice President, Dr. Tijjani Mohammed Sabiu, the delegation engaged in productive discussions with Senator Barau, focusing on strategic ways to enhance and expand commerce between both countries.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Senate President for his consistent support. They also briefed him on their upcoming economic programme scheduled to take place in Marrakesh, Morocco, which aims to further foster cross-border business collaborations.
Responding, Senator Barau assured the forum of his continued backing, noting that both nations share a deep bilateral history. He emphasized that the leadership of the National Assembly will continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting and maintaining this relationship to ensure maximum benefits for the citizens of both Nigeria and Morocco.
