Senator Natasha Commends Air Peace over South Africa Evacuation

The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has highly commended Air Peace and the Federal Government following the successful repatriation of 533 stranded Nigerian citizens from South Africa.

Lauding the operation as a monumental display of patriotism, empathy, and national service, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that the mission reinforces the principle that no Nigerian should be left behind in times of crisis.

The commendation follows Air Peace’s announcement on Tuesday regarding the completion of its second humanitarian evacuation flight from South Africa. In close coordination with the Federal Government, the airline safely transported 271 Nigerians back home aboard its Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

This latest flight brings the total number of evacuated citizens to 533 across two recent missions. Remarkably, this operation marks the 16th humanitarian and evacuation mission executed by Air Peace, solidifying its reputation for stepping up during national emergencies.

Reacting to the successful operation, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan praised the leadership and staff of Air Peace for placing national interest and human lives above commercial profit.

I extend my heartfelt commendation to the Chairman, management, and entire staff of Air Peace for once again demonstrating that corporate leadership is measured not only by profitability but also by compassion, patriotism, and an unwavering commitment to humanity.

Senator Natasha stated.

She further noted that the seamless collaboration between the private airline and the Federal Government serves as a blueprint for national emergency responses.

“This partnership serves as a shining example of what can be achieved when government and responsible private institutions work together in the national interest. Air Peace has once again proven that it is not merely an airline but a dependable national partner,” she added.

Reflecting on the broader impact of the mission, the lawmaker urged other corporate entities to replicate Air Peace’s dedication to social responsibility and nation-building. She noted that such acts of selflessness restore public hope and reinforce national solidarity during global uncertainties.

Welcoming the returnees on behalf of her constituents, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan concluded:

“On behalf of the good people of Kogi Central Senatorial District, I welcome our brothers and sisters home and pray that this new chapter brings renewed hope, peace, and greater opportunities for every one of them. Air Peace has once again written its name in gold… Nigeria is proud of this remarkable contribution.”
