The House of Representatives reconvened for a solemn plenary session on Tuesday to honor the memory of the late Representative Yaya Bauchi Tongo, who represented the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State.
During the session, lawmakers took turns paying tribute to the late legislator’s dedicated life and public service. The House formally extended its heartfelt condolences to Representative Tongo’s family, his constituents, and the government and people of Gombe State.
In keeping with parliamentary tradition, the House adjourned further plenary proceedings till Wednesday, July 8, 2026, immediately after the tributes as a mark of final respect.
