The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the controversial operations of the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council has declared as fake an appointment letter presented by Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the agency’s Director-General.
The Chairman of the ad hoc committee, Rep. Yusuf Gagdi, made the revelation on Wednesday during the continuation of the investigative panel’s hearing at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
According to Gagdi, the development followed direct testimony provided by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who was appearing before the parliamentary panel for a second time.
During her testimony, Walson-Jack confirmed to lawmakers that official verification proved the documents submitted by Adeyemi were unauthenticated and lacked legitimate government authorization.
The committee’s findings mark a critical turn in the ongoing legislative probe into the legal status, funding, and administrative backing of the alleged council as lawmakers work to establish full accountability and determine the extent of unauthorized operations linked to the body.
