Nigeria Eyes $1 Trillion Economy by 2030 as Q2 GDP Growth Hits 4.43%

Nigeria’s Q2 economic growth hits 4.43%, fueling a strong push toward a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

Nigeria’s journey toward a $1 trillion economy by 2030 received a major boost after the economy expanded by 4.43 per cent in the second quarter, rising from 3.89 per cent in the previous quarter. This momentum pushed the first-half growth rate to 4.16 per cent.

According to the Federal Ministry of Finance, the expansion is increasingly broad-based, with notable improvements across agriculture, manufacturing, and services.

While macroeconomic indicators point upward, President Bola Tinubu emphasized that financial stability must translate directly into tangible relief for citizens. The administration’s core focus remains generating employment, reducing inflation, expanding access to affordable credit, stabilizing power supply, and boosting food production to strengthen household purchasing power.

To cement its status as a premier regional trade and logistics hub, the government is rolling out ambitious modernization plans for ports, transport networks, and critical infrastructure. These measures are designed to reduce friction in the supply chain and lower the cost of doing business nationwide.

As policymakers align reforms with long-term targets, the strategy to build a $1 trillion economy by 2030 relies heavily on continuous infrastructural upgrades and private sector collaboration. Ultimately, the success of this economic blueprint for a $1 trillion economy by 2030 will be measured by sustainable wealth creation and improved living standards for all citizens.
