The Executive Secretary of the National Assembly Library, Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, recently received an official consultative and appreciation visit from the Secretariat of the Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill.
The visit followed an intensive work the group has been doing at the Library’s research and documentation facility.
The visit underscores the Executive Secretary’s leadership commitment to establishing the National Assembly Library as an essential knowledge engine, policy incubator, and resource hub supporting critical national legislative reforms.

Sustained Support for Evidence-Based Legislative Drafting
Since the commencement of the Working Group’s mandate, the National Assembly Library has provided a fully equipped, collaborative environment and comprehensive research support to facilitate the Secretariat’s technical drafting operations. The engagement provided an opportunity to assess milestones achieved on the draft National Policing Bill, review legislative schedules for the upcoming phases, and plan structured policy dialogues with relevant stakeholders.

Commitment to Sustainable Security Governance
Rt. Hon. Nwawuba welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the Library’s institutional backing for initiatives designed to advance informed and rigorous lawmaking.
The Executive Secretary assured the Secretariat that as the National Policing Bill moves through subsequent legislative stages, the Library will continue to facilitate engagements, host technical sessions, and provide the research foundation required to ensure the Bill’s successful consideration, passage, and nationwide acceptance.
Under his administration, the National Assembly Library remains dedicated to strengthening the policy infrastructure that underpins Nigeria’s legal and security governance.
