Oyin Akoko’s Future in Education: Federal College Bill Enters Final Legislative Phase

A significant legislative proposal, “A Bill for an Act to Amend the Federal Colleges of Education Act” (HB. 1600), is currently making headlines in the Nigerian House of Representatives. This bill is sponsored by Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, who represents the Akoko Northeast/Northwest Federal Constituency in Ondo State. Bill progress: Committee stage.

The primary aim of the bill is to amend the existing Federal Colleges of Education Act to pave the way for the establishment of a Federal College of Education in Oyin Akoko, Ondo State. This bill is part of a broader legislative effort to amend the Federal Colleges of Education Act, facilitating the establishment of new colleges in various locations, including Ijesha in Lagos State, Suleja in Niger State, and Faskari in Katsina State.
