INEC Commences Continuous Voters Registration Exercise Nationwide

The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise nationwide. This is a critical step towards ensuring citizens’ active participation in the upcoming elections and all eligible voters are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

📅 18 Aug 2025 – 30 Aug 2026
📍 Venue: All 37 INEC State Offices and 774 INEC Local Government Area (LGA) Offices

What to do:
✅ Complete your online pre-registration
✅ Do your physical registration

💻 Online starts: 18 Aug 2025
🏢 Physical starts: 25 Aug 2025
🕘 Time: 9am–3pm (weekdays only)

This exercise provides the following opportunities:

  • New Registrations: Eligible citizens who have not previously registered can do so at any of the designated centres.
  • Updates & Transfers: Already registered voters can update their personal details or transfer their voter records to a new location.
  • PVC Collection: Registered voters in Anambra State who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) can conveniently do so at designated collection centres.

To make the process seamless, INEC has introduced new features on the CVR portal that allow voters to:

  • Check the status of their voter card.
  • Identify their designated PVC collection centre.
  • Locate the nearest registration centre if they are registering for the first time.

Your PVC is your power—it is the key to making your voice heard and shaping the future of our democracy. We therefore urge every eligible voter to register, update their information, collect their PVCs, and actively participate in the electoral process.
