Arriving in Shanghai on Monday, 3rd November 2025, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, Speaker of the House of Representatives and his delegation were received at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, marking the start of a week of high-level engagements focused on deepening Nigeria–China cooperation across trade, innovation, and parliamentary diplomacy.
Ahead of Nigeria’s participation in the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) the delegation held a series of strategic meetings and visits to leading institutions including the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center.
On November 4, Speaker Abbas met with Premier Li Qiang of the People’s Republic of China in Shanghai.
Premier Li affirmed China’s readiness to deepen its partnership with Nigeria, not only in the familiar spheres of trade and infrastructure, but across the frontiers of technology, green energy, digital innovation, and human capital development.
Speaker Abbas welcomed this renewed commitment, describing it as a call to re-imagine cooperation between two nations bound by shared ambition and respect.
