AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria Records Successful 2026 Budget Defence at National Assembly; Aligns with Agenda 2063

The African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria) has successfully defended its 2026 budget proposal before the relevant joint committees of the National Assembly. The session, held on February 13, 2026, underscored the agency’s commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline, and the advancement of Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

Leading the agency’s delegation, the National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi, presented a comprehensive roadmap for the 2026 fiscal year. He outlined strategic priorities focused on human capital development, infrastructure, and institutional strengthening, all designed to harmonize Nigeria’s domestic growth with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the National Programme of Action (NPoA).

“Our 2026 proposal is not just a financial document; it is a blueprint for impact,” Hon. Abdullahi stated. “We are focused on capital investments that deliver measurable results for Nigerians while maintaining our leadership role in regional integration and continental progress.”

Members of the National Assembly Joint Committee lauded the agency for the clarity of its presentation and its adherence to national development priorities. Lawmakers specifically noted the agency’s disciplined approach to planning and expressed a strong understanding of its unique mandate as a bridge between national and continental aspirations.

Reflecting the legislature’s confidence, the Committee affirmed its commitment to supporting AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria with the necessary resources to strengthen its capacity and enhance the delivery of its core programs across the Federation.

The successful budget defense serves as a milestone in the agency’s efforts to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda. By focusing on inclusive growth and sustainable development, AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria remains a pivotal vehicle for implementing policies that empower marginalized groups and foster long-term stability.
