The Executive Secretary of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund, Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, has received an Institutional Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the successful hosting of the National Assembly Open Week 2026.

The award also recognized the National Assembly Library as the official institutional partner of the landmark event. It was presented during the Open Week Closing Cocktail held at the National Assembly Library Atrium in Abuja.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, conferred the honour through the House Leader, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere. Speaking during the ceremony, the Speaker commended Nwawuba’s commitment to strengthening legislative openness, public engagement, and knowledge-driven governance.

Receiving the award on behalf of himself and the staff of the National Assembly Library, Nwawuba expressed appreciation to the leadership of the 10th National Assembly for the opportunity to support the historic initiative.

He reaffirmed the Library’s commitment to serving as the intellectual backbone of the legislature by promoting transparency, preserving institutional knowledge, and strengthening the relationship between lawmakers and citizens.

The closing ceremony attracted lawmakers, policymakers, development partners, and other key stakeholders from across the country. Among the distinguished award recipients was the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Abbas Tajudeen, who was recognised for her support for parliamentary outreach and social impact initiatives.
