History Will Vindicate President Tinubu’s Bold Reforms, Says Speaker Abbas

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has declared that history will favorably remember President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for choosing national interest over political comfort through the implementation of critical, far-reaching economic reforms.

Speaking in Abuja at the inauguration of the National Executives of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Speaker Abbas emphasized that true leadership is defined by the courage to make difficult choices for the long-term benefit of the nation rather than seeking immediate public applause.

“History remembers those who choose courage over comfort,” Speaker Abbas stated, pointing to the administration’s major policy shifts, including the removal of the petrol subsidy, the unification of the foreign exchange market, and comprehensive tax reforms. He noted that while these decisions are challenging in the present, they were enacted deliberately to secure the posterity of the nation.

The Speaker highlighted the active collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government, asserting that the 10th House of Representatives has diligently fulfilled its constitutional responsibilities to shape and support these policies. According to Abbas, this synergy demonstrates that sustainable national progress relies on institutional partnership rather than isolated efforts.

In his closing remarks, Speaker Abbas called on the newly inaugurated executives and the wider public to view the “Renewed Hope” agenda not merely as a political slogan, but as a shared national covenant. He urged Nigerians to mobilize grassroots support across communities, stressing that the path forward requires strong leadership, effective partnerships, and the collective resolve of the entire nation.
