The House of Representatives officially resumed from its recess today, Wednesday, July 7, 2026.
Presiding over the plenary, the Deputy Speaker formally announced the sad passing of Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo of Gombe State.
Lawmakers observed a minute of silence and offered prayers in honor of the deceased. Following the announcement, and in line with parliamentary tradition, the House adjourned proceedings until Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
