House Leader Tasks Nigerian Youth on Self-Development, Confidence Building

The Leader, House of Representatives, Prof. Julius Omozuanvbo Ihonvbere has encouraged youths in the country who are desirous of making significant impact in their career to engage in self-development ventures, self-confidence building, and guard against setting any limits on their ambitions.

Prof. Ihonvbere handed down this counsel in his capacity as the keynote speaker at a youth conference themed: Youth Dialogue Bridging the Gap: A Parley with the National Assembly Leadership in Abuja on Wednesday, 26th November.

In his speech, the House Leader said: “Young people must endeavour to set their goals and always have option B when planning. Surely, there will be obstacles and enemies on the way but do not get distracted by them. Likewise, do not rely on shortcut, godfather or family name so you do not end up being disappointed.

“Moreover, I will admonish you not to count on prayers alone. Rather, build your capacity by leveraging on the power of knowledge and information. It is also important that you develop the courage to say the truth and stand by it always; it will pay off ultimately. In all, there is nothing you want to do in life that you cannot achieve so long as you are consistent and determined in the pursuit of your goals,” the Iseghede of Owanland further counseled the gathering of young people.

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, represented by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh also graced the confab aimed at improving the participation of young people in politics.
