The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo, Member representing Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State.
Speaker Abbas described the demise of the lawmaker as shocking and a great loss to the House, noting that Hon. Tongo served his constituents and the nation with dedication, patriotism, and unwavering commitment.
The late lawmaker, who also served as Chairman of the House Parliamentary Friendship Group with the United Arab Emirates, was known for his valuable contributions to legislative debates and parliamentary diplomacy.
While mourning the loss of a respected colleague, Speaker Abbas extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the people and government of Gombe State, and the people of Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency.
He prayed that Allah (SWT) grants Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and comforts all those affected by this painful loss.
