NALTF and National Youth Council of Nigeria Explore Partnership for National Youth Dialogue on Social Reforms

The National Assembly Library Trust Fund (NALTF) hosted a courtesy visit from the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) to explore potential collaboration on the forthcoming “National Youth Dialogue on Social Reforms Through Legislative Actions”, scheduled in commemoration of African Youth Day 2025. The engagement aligns with NALTF’s strategic agenda to amplify youth voices in governance and legislative processes.

The NYCN delegation, led by Barr. Suleiman Abubakar, Secretary General, and Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, President and Secretary of the Board of Trustees, was received by Dr. Matthew Coker, SA on Research and Strategy, alongside other council members.

The Dialogue seeks to create a national platform for constructive youth engagement, foster inclusive policymaking, and drive reforms through legislative advocacy. It will convene youth leaders, lawmakers, civil society actors, policy experts, and development partners to deliberate on critical social issues, propose innovative solutions, and chart actionable pathways for meaningful youth participation in national development.

Established in 1964 and accorded statutory recognition by an Act of Parliament in 1990—as enshrined in the National Youth Policy—the National Youth Council of Nigeria serves as the apex umbrella body representing youth and youth organizations across all tiers of government in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
