On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu issued a stern condemnation following a violent and unprovoked attack on residents of Naridon Village, located in the Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The assault, carried out in the early hours of Monday, July 27, 2026, tragically resulted in the deaths of approximately 30 residents, including women and children, alongside the destruction of several homes. Denouncing the violent event as a cowardly act of terror against defenceless citizens, President Tinubu warned that individuals attempting to undermine the peace and security established in Kaduna State will face full legal consequences.
Expressing deep condolences to the bereaved families, Governor Uba Sani, and the people of Kaduna State, the President reaffirmed the Federal Government’s unwavering support for the affected communities during this time of mourning.
President Tinubu stated, “I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly, secure the release of abducted individuals, and restore normalcy to the region”.
He further emphasized the administration’s resolve to address security vulnerabilities across the country: “Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel, and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation.”
Calling for a collaborative approach to safety, the President also appealed directly to local residents for support.
“I urge our local communities to cooperate with security forces by providing actionable intelligence that would help early response efforts,” President Tinubu adds.
The Presidency maintains that federal security apparatuses remain active in the area to restore stability and track those responsible.
