The Senate on Thursday mandated its committee on health to thoroughly investigate the veracity or otherwise of Covid -19 outbreak in Nigeria more than five years after its last encounter.
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio who gave the directive during plenary asked the the health committee chaired by Senator Ipalibo Banigo to swiftly investigate the matter and report to the senate.
The Cross River State government had on Tuesday confirmed a Covid-19 case with the state Ministry of Health embarking on profiling and tracing of some individuals in the state who have been in contact with a Chinese national admitted after testing positive for the COVID-19 virus.
