Senate President Announces President Tinubu’s Ministerial nominee, Dr Bernard Doro


In recent correspondence to the senate, President Bola Tinubu proposed Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State for the ministerial position in the Ministery of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

The formal announcement came on Wednesday, 22nd October, 2025 when the President’s letter detailing Doro’s nomination was read during plenary.

Plenary session led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, directed that the nomination be forwarded to the Committee of the Whole.

Dr. Doro’s nomination follows the emergence of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as the new national chairman of the APC earlier in July. Yilwatda previously held the position of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

As usual, Dr. Bernard Doro’s public service record will come under scrutiny during the confirmation process. Observers are keenly interested in his past achievements, particularly in any relevant sectors that intersect with the responsibilities of the ministry Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
