Senate Recieves Ministerial Nominees for Confirmation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially requested the Senate to screen and confirm the nominations of Joseph Tegbe and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Ministers of the Federal Republic, alongside the appointment of Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The executive communication was formally presented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary session.

In accordance with Section 147(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), President Tinubu has put forward the following individuals for the Federal Executive Council:

Joseph Tegbe (Minister-designate for Power): A renowned fiscal and economic reform expert with over 35 years of experience. Tegbe, who hails from Oyo State, succeeds Adebayo Adelabu following the latter’s resignation to focus on his 2027 gubernatorial ambitions.

Formerly a Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, Tegbe is a specialist in institutional transformation and governance. Most recently, he served as the Director General and Global Liaison for the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP).

Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye: Nominated to serve as Minister of State.

Furthering the administration’s commitment to energy sector stability, the President has nominated Rabiu Abdullahi Umar to lead the NMDPRA as its Chief Executive Officer.
