Speaker Tajudeen Takes Charge of Bauchi APC Internal Conflicts

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has appointed the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, as Chairman of a Reconciliation Committee to resolve internal disputes within the Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The committee, which includes Governor Mai Mala Buni, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Senator Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, and Alhaji Usman Abubakar Gotomo, with Prof. Jake Dan-Azumi as secretary, was inaugurated to address a crisis dating back to the 2015 party primaries.

Its first meeting, held in Abuja in late July, set the groundwork for a one-month mandate to reconcile differences ahead of the APC congresses. A follow-up meeting with key Bauchi stakeholders was held on July 31 at the Yobe State Governor’s Lodge, chaired by Governor Buni in Abbas’s absence.

The committee will submit its findings and recommendations to the President in the coming weeks for further action.
