Female Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

In Nigeria, female ministers have emerged as trailblazers, breaking barriers and shaping the nation’s political landscape. These women have proven their resilience and capability, paving the way for future generations of women to lead with strength, vision, and determination.

Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite (born 16 October 1973) is a Nigerian politician, medical doctor and financial analyst. She served as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of Nigeria between August 2023 and October 2024. She is the Nigerian Minister of State for Finance, a position she assumed on November 2, 2024.

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim born on (19th April 1980) is an International Expert and thought leader in Security, Conflict Resolution, Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Development and Migration Governance. She is the former Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). Former Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons. She was appointed as the first female Minister of Police Affairs in August 2023. She is currently the Minister of Women Affairs in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Hannatu Musa Musawa (born 1 November 1974) is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, and author who has served as the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy since 2023. She is from Katsina State in northern Nigeria and belongs to the Hausa-Fulani ethnic group.

Dr Olajumoke Omoniyi Oduwole, MFR (born 23 September 1973) is a Nigerian Jurist and the incumbent Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.

She was the Prince Claus Chair holder from 2013 to 2015.

Bianca Odinakachukwu Olivia Odumegwu-Ojukwu (nee Onoh; born 5 August 1968) is a Nigerian politician, diplomat, lawyer, businesswoman and beauty pageant titleholder. She currently serves as the Federal Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. she was the country’s ambassador to Ghana and became Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain in 2012. She is also Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the incumbent Minister of State Foreign Affairs, after being sworn in on 4 November 2024.

Nkeiruka Chidubem Onyejocha (born 23 November 1969) is a Nigerian politician, current Minister of State for Labour and Employment (2023-Present) and a former lawmaker in Nigeria’s Federal House of Representatives. She represented Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State. She has sponsored several bills and moved motions that have improved the lives of ordinary citizens and help safeguard their rights.

Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure is a Nigerian medical doctor and politician who has served as the minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria since 2023.She was previously the commissioner for higher education in Kano State,

Suwaiba Sa’idu Ahmad (born 13 February 1981) is a Nigerian academic and Professor of Science Education who is serving as the Minister of State for Education since 23 October 2024. Prior to her appointment, Ahmad served as the provost of Jigawa State College of Education.
