In a strategic move to bolster the nation’s athletic sector and media coverage, the Sports Media Team Committee officially presented its 2026 budget proposal before the House Committee on Sports at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Thursday.
The budget defense session was presided over by the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Kabiru Amadu, alongside the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Muhammed Jajere. Also in attendance were Mr. Rasaq Aderibigbe, Clerk of the House Committee, and member Hon. Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi.
The presentation marks a critical step in the 2026 fiscal planning cycle, focusing on the resources necessary to enhance sports journalism, media infrastructure, and the global promotion of Nigerian sports talent. During the session, the Media Team Committee outlined its key objectives for the upcoming year, emphasizing the need for robust funding to meet the evolving demands of modern sports broadcasting and digital reportage.
Hon. Kabiru Amadu expressed the House Committee’s commitment to ensuring that all sports-related bodies are adequately equipped to foster national development through athletics.
