In a strategic move to fortify Nigeria’s border management and economic frameworks, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara recently joined fellow lawmakers for the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise International Retreat and Capacity-Building Study Tour in Akwa Ibom State.
The intensive four-day program, themed “Advancing Legislative Oversight in Customs & Excise: Future-Ready Customs; Legislative Strategies for Trade, Security, and Innovation,” comes at a critical juncture as global commerce undergoes rapid transformation.
According to Hon. Ogbara, the retreat addressed pressing national priorities, noting that the efficiency of the country’s customs administration is now more vital than ever to national security, economic growth, revenue generation, and regional competitiveness.
