The Senate has officially confirmed President Bola Tinubu’s seven nominees for appointment to the governing board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC).
The confirmation followed the presentation and consideration of a report by the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Kamarudeen Olalere (Osun West), during Wednesday’s plenary session.
The Confirmed Board Members include:
Chairman: Abdullahi Saidu
The Members of the commission include:Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola.
Presenting the committee’s findings, Senator Olalere stated that the nominees underwent a thorough screening process evaluate their educational qualifications, professional backgrounds, and overall suitability for public service. He affirmed that the committee unanimously endorsed all seven candidates without hesitation.
The committee thoroughly examined the nominees curriculum vitae, educational qualifications, and professional experience and found them exceptionally qualified to serve on the board.

The confirmation fulfills a formal request submitted to the Senate last month by President Bola Tinubu pursuant to Section 5(3) of the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007, which mandates legislative screening and approval for board appointments to the commission.
