Delegates from Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples visit National Assembly Library

A delegation from the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) paid a courtesy visit to the National Assembly Library on Wednesday, September 17 and were received by the Executive Secretary, Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba.

The delegation was led by Hon. Fernando Gonzalez Llort, Member of the National Assembly of the People’s Power of Cuba (ANPP), President of ICAP, and Hero of the Republic of Cuba and accompanied by H.E. Mrs. Miriam Morales Palemero, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Nigeria.

Also in the delegation was Ms. Yahimi Rodrigues Flores, ICAP’s Director for Africa and the Middle East; and Ms. Ana Flavia Gomez Pavot, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba to Nigeria.

The discussions during the visit centred on building bridges of friendship and cooperation between the National Assembly Library and Cuba, as well as explore collaborative opportunities in knowledge exchange, culture, and development initiatives.

The visit also captured the importance of international partnerships in strengthening parliamentary institutions and advancing shared values.

After the discussions, Hon. Nwawuba led the delegates as they toured round the library and museum, exploring the Nigeria’s artifacts, historical documents and gallery of Heroes of our nation.
