Two bills scaled second reading:
- Transition to Electric Vehicles 2025 (SB. 856) – Sen. Kalu, Orji Uzor (Abia North). The bill aims to establish a comprehensive framework for the transition to Electric Vehicles in Nigeria, promote local manufacturing, ensure environmental sustainability and drive economic growth. The bill was sent to the Committee on Industry to revert in four weeks. Read more here.
- National Centre for Information and Communication Technology Nkanu West, Enugu State 2025 (SB. 643) – Sen. Chukwu, Chizoba Kelvin (Enugu East). The bill was sent to the Committee on ICT and Cyber security to revert in four weeks. Read more here.
Senate Passes Sexual Harassment Bill

The Senate passed four concurrent bills on Wednesday, most notably, a bill aimed at combating sexual harassment as part of a broader move to uphold ethics in the nation’s universities.
