The House of Representatives on Tuesday, October 14, swore in Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle as a new member of the Green Chamber.
Hon. Oyekunle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was sworn in during a plenary session presided over by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, who administered the oath of office and allegiance.

Oyekunle fills the seat of Ibadan North Federal Constituency left vacant by the passing of Late Hon. Olaide Akinremi.
His induction brings closure to one of the outstanding vacancies arising from the outcome of the by-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on 16 August.

Last week, the House swore in four victorious candidates from the 16 August by-elections to fill other vacant seats.
They are: Omosede Igbinedion (APC, Ovia Federal Constituency, Edo State), who replaced Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa; Muktar Rabiu (APC, Garki/Babura Federal Constituency, Jigawa State), who replaced Isa Dogonyaro; Joseph Bagudu (APC, Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Kaduna State), who replaced Ekene Abubakar Adams; and Yetunde Elegbeji (APC, Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Ogun State) who replaced Oriyomi Onanuga
