The two-day gathering, held at the National Assembly Library, brought together senior policymakers and experts for a thoughtful conversation focused on Nigeria’s strategic positioning in today’s evolving global landscape.

A Convergence of Leaders

This caliber of attendance highlighted the seriousness with which legislative and executive leadership views informed national strategy.

National Assembly Library as a Hub for Informed Policy

In his remarks, Hon. Nwawuba, the Executive Secretary of the National Assembly Library, highlighted the Library’s growing role as a hub for dialogue, research support, and informed policymaking.

He emphasized the deliberate steps the Library is taking to empower legislators and support effective governance:

  • Expanding Digital Resources: Steadily increasing the volume and accessibility of digital materials to ensure policymakers have real-time data and global insights.
  • Strengthening Documentation Systems: Ensuring that legislative history and policy debates are accurately preserved and easily retrievable.
  • Creating a Dialogue Platform: Establishing the Library as the crucial non-partisan space where complex national issues can be examined with clarity, free from political noise.

Hon. Nwawuba reiterated that the Library is designed to be the foundational resource that underpins evidence-based legislation and sound executive action.

Pledging Commitment to Global Engagement

The session has been described as highly productive, fostering rich discussions among attendees. Hon. Nwawuba concluded by pledging his unwavering commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance our legislative capacity and, crucially, deepen Nigeria’s engagement with global partners.

The success of the dialogue further cements the National Assembly Library Trust Fund’s role as an essential pillar in Nigeria’s pursuit of structured development and strategic global relevance.
