The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating federal airport and seaport concession agreements has delayed the submission of its final report due to the ongoing, extensive scrutiny of key stakeholders, the panel’s chairman has revealed.
The committee, which was inaugurated in February 2026, is tasked with auditing all major aviation and maritime concession agreements executed over a 19-year period, spanning 2006 to 2025.
Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, the Committee Chairman, Kolawole Akinlayo, explained that the panel requires more time to thoroughly evaluate the operations of critical entities falling under its investigative mandate.
We are still carrying out extensive investigations into the operations of key stakeholders covered by our mandate, the Committee Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Akinlayo .
Akinlayo, who represents the Moba/Ilejemeje/Ido Osi Federal Constituency of Ekiti State, assured that the thoroughness of the current exercise is necessary to ensure a comprehensive and impactful final report is delivered to the green chamber.
The probe is expected to look into the financial and operational compliance of various private concessionaires managing Nigeria’s critical transportation gateways, aimed at ensuring transparency and maximizing federal revenue.
