The National Assembly Library Complex recently hosted a historic inter-institutional consultative meeting designed to strengthen structural synergy between the legislative and judicial arms of government.
The Executive Secretary of the National Assembly Library, Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, and members of the Library management team, officially received the Administrator of the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Hon. Justice B. A. Adejumo, OFR (Rtd.), along with members of his executive management team.
The high-level engagement highlights the Executive Secretary’s active leadership in positioning the Library as a collaborative nerve center for legal research, statutory documentation, and institutional capacity building across the Three Arms of Government.
Strategic Synergies in Research and Capacity Building
During the substantive meeting, Rt. Hon. Nwawuba and Hon. Justice Adejumo explored broad avenues of cooperation between the two premier knowledge-driven institutions. Discussions focused on establishing sustainable linkages in judicial research, sharing legislative archives, expanding electronic library access, and implementing joint capacity-building programs for legal researchers and parliamentary draftsmen.
Nwawuba expressed his profound appreciation to Hon. Justice Adejumo and the NJI management delegation for their visit and their encouraging feedback regarding the ongoing modernization of the National Assembly Library.
Reaffirming the Library’s mandate under his administration, the Executive Secretary emphasized that as institutions fundamentally dedicated to the preservation of knowledge, statutory integrity, and the rule of law, the Library and the NJI share a sacred obligation to collaborate. Under his direction, the National Assembly Library remains steadfast in building lasting partnerships that strengthen the research foundations supporting justice administration and lawmaking in Nigeria.
