On May 30, 2025 the Alumni Association of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI) paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund (NALTF), Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to legislative development and youth empowerment.
The delegation, made up of vibrant young leaders and alumni of the prestigious LMI program, met with the Executive Secretary , to discuss opportunities for long-term partnership and knowledge exchange between the two entities. At the heart of the meeting was a shared vision: to equip emerging leaders with the resources, research, and legislative insight necessary for impactful public service.
The visit served as a platform to explore how NALTF’s resources—its expansive legislative library, data repositories, and research infrastructure—can support the learning and development goals of LMI alumni and future cohorts. Discussions also focused on creating joint initiatives centered on leadership development, legislative education, mentorship, and policy research, in alignment with NALTF’s mandate of supporting effective legislative work through knowledge enhancement.
During the visit, the Association presented Rt. Hon. Nwawuba with an Award of Recognition for Exemplary Leadership, in appreciation of his consistent support for youth development, institutional collaboration, and public sector innovation. The award recognized his leadership not just within the Library Trust Fund, but also in championing youth-inclusive governance through initiatives like the LMI.

The Executive Secretary expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and sustained investment in the next generation of leaders. He reaffirmed NALTF’s commitment to knowledge-driven legislative support and encouraged the alumni to remain steadfast in advancing democratic values and institutional integrity. “This engagement reflects our belief that access to knowledge and mentorship are two of the most powerful tools for national transformation,” Nwawuba noted.
The visit marks a continued partnership between the Legislative Mentorship Initiative and key institutions working to strengthen Nigeria’s legislative ecosystem.
